Our purpose
Our mission is to strengthen existing partners and develop new partners in our ongoing effort to provide nourishment for the people in our community who find themselves food insecure at any point in their life.

Our mission is to strengthen existing partners and develop new partners in our ongoing effort to provide nourishment for the people in our community who find themselves food insecure at any point in their life.
The majority of the people who access the resources at the Sunshine Food Pantry & Resource Center are 'working poor'; people who work hard, often providing services we all benefit from, but may struggle ensuring that their family has access to nourishing foods. We also have many seniors in our community whose fixed income can limit their ability to meet all their monthly expenses.
Galt is a community that cares for its neighbors and we are an integral part of providing care.

Since 2010 the Galt United Methodist Church is providing food to neighbors from their social hall. Every year the need has grown, and every year the many volunteers from the community continue to meet that growing need. As of 2022 we have nearly 2000 people who receive food from the Sunshine Food Pantry. We are striving to build a new,

As of 2022 we have nearly 2000 people who receive food from the Sunshine Food Pantry. We are striving to build a new, ecologically friendly, sustainable building that can meet the increased needs and continue to grow and expand the services we can provide.

BUSINESS TO BUSINESS MATCHING CHALLENGE!
We are delighted to share that one local business has donated $20,000 as a challenge to 20 other local businesses that have employees or families working and living in Galt. The challenge is to match with $1,000 of their own generous donation.
